Welcome to Citizens Advice North Liverpool

Citizens Advice North Liverpool is an independent charity (Charity No: 1073448) which provides free, confidential, impartial and independent advice for people living and working in North Liverpool from 3 local Citizens Advice offices in Anfield , Norris Green and Walton.

For telephone and face-to-face Gateway sessions all clients are given a brief interview to determine the appropriate next steps.

Specialist Debt appointments are available throughout the week and can be booked via Adviceline, via the LCAP and GMMAP online portals or in person at Anfield, Walton & Norris Green reception.

My Money Empowerment Service

(including outreach advice sessions)

Part of a Community Resilience Anti-Poverty Project in partnership with Breckfield & North Everton Neighbourhood Council and Liverpool Football Club, operating in the neighbourhoods affected by the ground redevelopment.  The My Money Empowerment Worker provides debt and benefits advice weekly at drop-in outreach locations:

The project also delivers group sessions on different aspects of money management to a range of community groups in the area

New Direction Improving Financial Confidence Service

Provides one-to-one money management and income maximisation advice and support to social housing tenants. Clients are referred by RSLs, Credit Unions  and by our generalist services, and can also drop in at one of our outreach sessions

IT’s All About Money

 

The project worker provides financial capability, income maximisation and money management advice and support to people over 55 in group or one-to-one sessions. There is an emphasis on helping people to improve their digital skills and confidence so as to manage their finances more effectively.

One-to-one clients access the service via attendance at a group session (for example in sheltered housing schemes, lunch clubs etc) or by referral from our generalist services

Advice on Prescription Programme

Generalist Advice services available as a non-medical treatment to primary care patients. Service is provided in 9 health centres across North Liverpool on a hub-and-spoke model. Access is by referral from GP or other health care professional only

OUTreach LGBT Advice service

Dedicated advice service for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and  Transgender Communities. Advice by drop-in and/or appointment at partner centres including Armistead Project, Sahir House, Terence Higgins Trust, GYRO, plus advice surgeries at a range of LGBT-related events and in-bureau appointments. We also provide awareness training and help to co-ordinate equality initiatives, for example around hate crime. More information from Joe/Shelly/Schaunette 207 6974

Pension wise

Since 6 April, pensions have changed giving people more freedom to choose what to do with their pension pot.
If they’re:50 or over, and have a pension based on how much has been paid into the pot(s) (a defined contribution pension).

Pension Wise is a new Government service that will help people go through their options to make informed and confident decisions that are best for them and their family.
Citizens Advice North Liverpool is delivering Pension Wise appointments in Anfield, Garston, Huyton, Norris Green, Southport, St Helens, Toxteth and Walton Citizens Advice Offices.

Financial Capability Training Services

We offer a range of group workshops  on topics such as budgeting, banking, income maximisation, energybills, affordable credit and safe savings. Currently delivered through the Fuel Debt, My Money and IT’s All About Money projects as outlined above and also through TUC Union Learn to a number of unions; North Liverpool Academy Parents Programme; local community groups
