Citizens Advice Bureau is currently in its 75th year of advising and supporting the people of Liverpool. We couldn’t do this without our volunteers – people who come from all walks of life and give their precious time to help our community.

The Big Lottery Fund have published their Summer 2014 newsletter about their national Improving Financial Confidence (IFC) programme.
The newsletter includes feedback from an IFC learning event in Coventry as well as information gathered from some of the 37 IFC projects around the country.

New Volunteers trained for the Financial Capability Hub

Nine individuals have just completed training to be Financial Capability Volunteers for our Improving Financial Confidence project, the Financial Capability Hub.
The Volunteers will be placed across our partner hosts and hopefully will benefit from shadowing current IFC Volunteers. This will increase our reach across the city in order to assist social housing tenants closer to where they live.
At least one volunteer will receive further training and support to conduct home visits to tenants who are particularly vulnerable or who find travel difficult.

75 Years of the CAB ‘The Charity for Your Community'

In September the CAB service will be celebrating our 75th Anniversary - the first bureaux opened their doors on 4th September, the day after World War II was declared. What started out as an emergency service in wartime, is still needed just as much as ever as people struggle to cope with debt, unemployment, housing and benefit problems, to name just some areas of our advice.
